Job requires the ability to perform moderately complex call center, data maintenance, and client assistance services.  The position will work under general supervision with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.    Requires knowledge of agency systems, community conditions and an understanding of how they affect client problems; ability to establish priorities and work schedules, knowledge of information and referral standards, program policies and procedures; ability to develop positive and effective working relationships with staff, clients, caregivers, medical and social servicer providers, and general public without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form; ability to coordinate multiple tasks; ability to implement and use a wide variety of computer programs and software and telecommunications equipment; sensitivity to needs of individuals seeking information or assistance; ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop workable solutions; ability to perform in conflict/crisis environment; ability to work effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization.  Preferred demonstrated capacities:  Interviewing techniques, listening skills, telephone usage, assessment technique, information provision skills, referral provision skills, follow-up, data recording, use of resource database and internet web sites; working with people in crisis, special populations, difficult inquirers, and multi-cultural inquirers.

Desired education, training, and experience:  Completion of a bachelor’s degree in sociology, social services, social work, or a field related to programmatic needs from an accredited university, plus at least one year of progressively responsible experience in programs related to assignment is desired. 

Required education, training, and experience:  High school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least four years experience in social service or specified departmental programs, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Appropriate motor vehicle license or alternate means of transportation.
