Alzheimer's Disease Program & Resource Center
Alzheimer’s Disease affects the caregiver of the Alzheimer’s patient as much as the patient. This program provides Caregiver Classes for family or professional caregivers. The classes provide coping skills and information about what to expect as the disease progresses.
The Caregiver Support Group meets monthly to discuss issues of interest to the group; this communication with others experiencing the same thing can be invaluable to caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients. Speakers on topics of interest to the group are invited periodically.
The Time-Out Group Program is a respite program funded by the Brookdale Foundation. Participants in the program attend group sessions for several hours one or two days a week, thus providing their caregivers with much needed free time. The Time-Out Program is available in Grayson and Cooke Counties.
